Adult Preventive Health Care

Recommended preventive health care services for adults are covered by the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. The preventive benefits have been expanded to help participants detect problems early and take an active role in maintaining good health. 

NOTE: Many Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO's) offer preventive health coverage. Contact your HMO regarding preventive health exams and screening tests covered by your plan.

Access: Participants may make appointments by telephone directly with their network physician for office visits.
Provider: Primary care network physicians
Eligible Participants: Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO participants (includes spouses, dependents and retirees) who meet age and gender criteria. (See "Coverage" below)
Availability: A Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO participant may make an appointment for a preventive care exam with a network provider at any time during the year.
Cost: Coverage is 100 percent of reasonable and customary charges, with no copay or deductible.
On-Site Preventive Health Screenings: For TIer convenience, on-site preventive health screenings are offered at all Texas TI locations. Coverage: View the well-adult Preventive Care Services Menu to determine the recommended screening tests and exams covered by the Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO for your gender and age. To communicate your preventive health coverage to your physician, print the chart that applies to you. Keep it handy when you make your appointment and take it with you to the doctor's office.
