Support the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

Breast cancer affects more than1.3 million each year. That's not just a statistic – it's personal. We all know people who are impacted by this disease. When breast cancer strikes, it not only affects the people diagnosed, but their family and friends, too. This year TIAA has decided to help raise money to find a cure and we have identified ways that each TIAA member can participate.  
 
The 20th Anniversary Komen North Texas Race for the Cure race is June 12 at the Plano campus of Hewlett-Packard at Legacy and Parkwood – just east of the North Dallas Tollway. We have set a goal to raise more than $2,500 with our TIAA team and we need your help. More details on the race can be found on the Komen website.  
 
What can you do?

Join the TIAA team – Walk, Run or Sleep in for the Cure. (That's right – you can sign up for the team and raise money even if you can't be there in person.)  Register by June 1 and your race packet will be mailed to you.

• Go to the Komen registration site.
• Select “Join an Existing Team” and find the Texas Instruments TIAA in the list and click on the “Join Now” in the right column.  Follow the online instructions to complete the registration.
• Cost - $30 for a “race” participant; $40 for a “sleep-in” participant.
• Bill and Billie Aylesworth will sponsor the first 20 TIAA participants who sign up as part of the TIAA team at $100 each.  Just register with the TI TIAA team (instructions above) and send an email to Linda Smittle at linda@smittle.com to verify your participation. The first 200 TI/TIAA participants will also receive a TI T-shirt.

Support Susan G. Komen financially – Providing financial support to find a cure for breast cancer is easy.  Even if you don’t join the team, you can:

• Sponsor a TIAA member – Follow the above directions to go to the Susan G. Komen website and select “Sponsor a walker” and find the TIAA walker you’d like to sponsor and complete the online form.
• Send a check – Make a check out to Komen NTX RFTC with Texas Instruments-TIAA in the memo field. Send the check to Komen North Texas Race for the Cure, PO Box 678435, Dallas, TX 75267-8436.
