Upcoming TIAA Travel Events Clark Gardens at Weatherford - Tuesday, May 11 - Visit spectacular gardens that have been featured on HGTV's Great American Gardens in addition to numerous magazines, newspapers and other publications. Three different G-scale model garden trains on 700 feet of track meander through a landscape of natural vegetation, trestles and small streams. Paths weave under seven-foot-high willow trestles next to a six-foot waterfall and over little bridges in the Garden Train area. "Clark Station" houses incredible towns of scaled-down buildings made of plant materials such as poppy seeds, acorns, grapevine tendrils, cinnamon sticks and pinecone scales. Over 100 trees lining the trails surrounding Emerald Lake are the genuine offspring of original historical trees that bore witness to the lives and events that shaped our nation, including a descendent of the Johnny Appleseed tree. We will depart Texins at 9 a.m., tour the gardens from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., then eat lunch at our own expense at the gardens and return about 3 p.m. Cost is $18 per member and $20 per nonmember. Please register by May 4. Lone Star Horse Racing Friday, June 4 - Come with us to see live thoroughbred racing and enjoy access to both the second and fourth levels of the Grandstand and great, climate-controlled views of the track. We will have reserved Counter Seats on the second level which has extensive food and beverage options (at our own expense), video monitors of the racing action, and ample standing room to join in the excitement. Walk down to the paddock area to see the horses and jockeys up close and personal and pick a winner. Betting windows are available on several floors. We will leave Texins at 4:30 p.m. and return at 11 p.m. Price of $22 per member and $25 per nonmember includes entry fees. Please register by May 28. Save These Dates!
