Retiree Health Benefits Seminar

In case you were unable to attend the Retiree Health Benefits Seminar at Plano Centre on October 14 or would like to revisit some of the material presented, TIAA has posted an audio recording and slide show of the seminar presentation on our website. The presentation consisted of:

  • Annual Enrollment Update by Kerrin White

  • H1N1 (Swine) Flu Update by Dr. Kevin Soden

  • CVS/Caremark Update by Michelle Wiener

  • Medicare Update by Gaye Humphrey

To access the presentation, go to the annual enrollment page and click the "2010 health benefits presentation" link. A slide show with an audio recording of the entire presentation will run. If you want to skip ahead to the H1N1 (swine) flu portion of the presentation, select slide 6 from the outline list at the left side of the screen. Similarly, you can select slide 22 for the CVS/Caremark update, or slide 30 for the Medicare update.

Remember that Nov. 17 is the cutoff date for making changes to your medical and dental coverage. If you do not make any changes, your coverage will be the same as for last year.

Cowboy Stadium Tour

Due to popular demand, we have scheduled another tour of the Cowboy Stadium for Thursday, Nov. 19. Those who registered for the first tour on Nov. 17 but were unable to be accommodated have filled up two buses and half of a third. There are no more buses available.

There are 15 seats still available on the third bus that will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. After the 15 seats are assigned, we will make up a standby list in case there are any cancellations. We will not schedule another tour at this time because of the impending holidays.

This tour will be the same as the first one. We will meet in front of the Texins Activity Center at 9:15 a.m. for a 9:30 a.m. departure. The tour begins at 11 a.m. and will last about 75 minutes. We will visit the Pro Shop, scoreboard control room, a luxury suite, the press box, the silver level platform, player interview room, the football field, and the Cowboys locker room. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Cameras and video recorders are welcome. Food, drink, smoking, and large purses are not allowed.

After the tour, we'll have lunch at Mercado Juarez in Arlington. Because of the size of the group, Mercado Juarez will offer us a special menu of eight different entrees at a fixed inclusive cost of $8. You can tip the server if you wish. The restaurant cannot handle checks or credit cards for a group this large; payment must be made in cash. You will need to have the correct change. We should return about 2 p.m. Cost is $16 per member and $18 per nonmember.

To register, contact Jessica Stewart at admin@tialumni.org or 214-567-8444. We'd love to have you join us, but you need to register right away.
