TIAA Newsletter Published The Second Quarter 2008 issue of TI Alumni News has been delivered to the Post Office and posted on the TIAA website. The downloadable version of the newsletter can be accessed at www.tialumni.org/news/. Because of the ever increasing printing and mailing costs, printed versions are being mailed only to current TIAA members beginning with this issue. However, former TIers can receive copies of this email bulletin, TI Alumni eNews, by sending their current email address to admin@tialumni.org . New TIAA Telephone Number Effective May 21, 2008, TIAA will have a new telephone number, 214-567-8444. TI is phasing in an upgraded telephone service on the Expressway Site and the Texins Activity Center where we office will be outfitted with entirely new equipment on that date. Unfortunately, new telephone numbers had to be assigned. Callers to our old number will receive a recorded message informing them of the new number for six months. Upcoming Events TIAA Annual Membership Meeting – Wednesday, May 21, in the landmark Old Red Courthouse in Downtown Dallas. Meeting begins at 11 a.m. with free tours of the Old Red Museum of Dallas County History and Culture at either 10 a.m. or noon. The primary purpose of the meeting is to elect officers for the 2008 -2009 fiscal year. John Van Scoter, TI senior vice president and general manager of DLP® Products will be the executive speaker. Tickets are still available to attend the 7:30 p.m. performance of “Mid-Life, the Crisis Musical”, a comedy revue about life’s middle-aged gains and losses. Depart Texins Activity Center by bus at 5:15 p.m. and return at 10 p.m. Before the show, enjoy dinner at your expense at the Dream Café. Normal Aging Seminar Presentation Zanda Hilger, Area Agencies on Aging of Dallas County and North Central Texas, presented a Seminar on Normal Aging on Feb. 28 at the Plano Centre. Topics covered included debunking myths about aging, accepting and adjusting to change and loss, dealing will loss and grief, and taking advantage of available resources.
